Does the idea of beach coworking interest you? Fancy working next to a beach in Thailand, Costa Rica, or the Canary Islands (Spain)? You might find these seven beach coworking spaces and locations of interest!

Best beach coworking space worldwide

The following coworking spaces are either on the edge of a beach or within just a few minutes walk of a beach.

1. Kohub Coworking Space, Koh Lanta, Thailand

If you have read any of our other coworking posts, then you will already have guessed that Kohub is one of our favorite coworking beach spaces.

What’s not to love about Kohub? Kohub in Koh Lanta is exotic and has everything you are likely to need as a digital nomad looking for the perfect beachside location to work from.

The benefits include:

  • You are right next to the beach
  • The facilities are perfect for digital nomads (high-speed and reliable Internet access)
  • There’s a great vibe, i.e. friendly digital worker’s community
  • It’s a scenic and stunning location
  • They have a cafe and bar area and so you can buy your meals there
  • There are plenty of activities and things going on at or near the coworking space and lots of opportunities to meet other like-minded people

You can learn more about Kohub on their own official website.

You might also want to check out the accommodation service that they offer as they have their own Kohub apartments and they are just a couple of minutes’ walk from the coworking space by the beach.

2. Cocovivo Coworking in Bocas Del Toro, Panama

Panama might not be the first country you think of when it comes to working by the beach as a digital nomad, but it is an excellent option.

Cocovivo is set in a stunning location in an area that borders where both the jungle and the sea meet.

The area is especially interesting as a coworker or digital nomad, if you are interested in sustainability and eco-living, as the coworking space uses solar power for all their energy source, rainwater collection, and composting toilets.

This place is a combination of an eco-experience, combined with coworking space, and plenty to do here.

You can normally find regular yoga classes, snorkeling, wildlife excursions, and a range of day trips organized by Cocovivo.

You can find out more and book here on the Cocovivo website.

3. Dojo Bali Coworking Space, Indonesia

Located in Dalung, Kuta Utara, Bali, this is an extremely popular coworking space for many digital nomads given the:

  • lost cost of living
  • large number of beach areas for nomads
  • great weather

Whilst there are numerous coworking options in Bali, our favorite is Dojo coworking space because we found the community brilliant (with lots of great people) and they hold lots of social events.

We particularly enjoyed the Friday night beer on the beach get-togethers.

The Internet access had also a great speed and overall the place is brilliantly run and well-organized and staff are really friendly.

You can learn more on their site here.

4. Box Jelly Coworking Near Waikiki Beach, Hawaii

Coworking in Honolulu by the beach

Box Jelly is another coworking space close to the beach, in this case within walking distance of the world-famous Waikiki Beach (read about working remotely from Hawaii).

We loved working from Box Jelly not only for its fantastic location but also because it’s a spacious co-working space with lots of natural light.

You can also use one of the tatami mats (a Japanese futon) and you can sit facing Ala Moana Beach Park.

Overall, we found it to be a great place for coworking as digital nomads pass through Honolulu.

Plenty of coffee, really friendly staff, a nice atmosphere, and spaces you can use if you need to hold a meeting in privacy or conference. They also have showers, refreshments, and lockers available.

Overall a great coworking space close to the beach!

5. 1701 Virginia Beach Coworking Space

170s Beach coworking

This coworking space is literally just across the road from the 3-mile-long beach and you will be right in the heart of the beachfront area if you work from this coworking space.

1701 has a real arty hipster-type vibe and is a relaxed co-working space.

We loved working from 1701 especially given its location as it meant we could for a walk on the boardwalk before and after work.

Quite a few of the coworkers sometimes go out locally as you are close to all the bars and we loved the seafood and drinking with the coworkers in the nearby bar Harpoon Larry’s.

We found it easy to get work done here and it’s well-organized, with nice owners and amazing roasted coffee!

6. Beach House Coworking Space, Santa Monia, California

Santa Monica coworking space by the beach

Beach House Cowork space is amazing. We love it!

Simon, who runs the place (or he did when we visited), will show you around and a brilliant location right by the beach, really relaxed and just a fantastic place to be coworking from.

It’s close to some really good bars, restaurants, and shops and there’s a great community atmosphere in the beach house.

It’s only a short stroll to the beach from the coworking space!

Quite a few of the coworkers were there long-term it seemed to us, so it is maybe not as transient in terms of the people working from there, but we got to meet some great people.

You can find the Beachhouse Cowork site here.

7. SunDesk Coworking in Tagazhout, Morocco

Taghazout coworking
Taghazout coworking

If you are looking for beach working spaces then Sundesk, in the small coastal town of Tagazhout in Morocco, is an interesting option.

There are only a few rooms if you are staying and using it also for coliving (in addition to coworking) but you do get to know the others staying well if you want to.

Even with the limited number of rooms, it can be a fantastic coworking/coliving space as it is extremely easy to meet and mix with the other coworkers and this makes for a small but close-knit community vibe.

Travel gear for digital nomads

You are literally overlooking the beach and so it’s a fantastic location in terms of beach coworking spaces.

It’s great in the mornings as the breakfast area is on the terrace with great views, and the breakfast was always delicious when we visited.

Taghazout itself is a lovely fishing village to explore and it’s also got some decent surf spots if surfing is your thing as a coworker.

Travel Resources

I have been traveling for many years and have come to use a lot of travel sites and resources for booking my trips. They represent the companies that I often use and have served me well and they are the first ones I use when booking new trips.

  • Booking.com – they tend to provide very competitive prices and the reviews are easy to view, and they normally have something available wherever in the world I am going to. They also now provide airport transfers, local attractions, and flights.
  • Safety Wing Travel Insurance – Safety Wing has become one of the leaders in travel insurance, especially for remote workers and digital nomads as they provide cover that includes for long-term stays.
  • Get Your Guide – is the site on which I normally book tours (I love to visit the local sports stadia, aquarium, royal palace, and some cultural attractions). With get Your Guide they have excellent customer support and have a wide range of tours.
