If you are new to co-working, then you are missing out on the chance to live and work in the world’s most exotic and exciting locations.
Many countries are now offering nomad visas, but even without these, you can stay in most countries for 90 days without a visa. Living and working anywhere in the world has never been so easy.
In this post, I want to share with you our 12 favorite co-working (and co-living) places that we have visited.
Table of Contents
1. Bansko CoWorking Space, Bulgaria
One of the greatest successes in the coworking world for travelers and the model that many point to is that of Coworking Bansko.
Most coworkers who visit Bansko end up staying for many months! Why? There is a great sense of community in the Bansko coworking arena and it’s almost like a family, you might say.
Bansko is incredibly inexpensive, it’s easy to get around town and there is a wonderful co-working vibe here. They also hold regular events including:
- Hot springs on Wednesday nights
- Poker night on Thursdays evenings
- BBQs on Friday nights
- Things going on all the time include day trips, hiking, and restaurant nights.
Bansko is a small ski resort and this compactness is what gives it a cozy and tight-family style feeling as a co-worker. It is really easy here to meet other like-minded people and you can hit the right balance here of work and play.
Accommodation is also so easy to find, be it Co-living with Coworking Bansko, or by renting an apartment.
An apartment for a month will only set you back a couple of hundred dollars or pounds. It’s about as cheap as you will find worldwide.
Why We Love Coworking Bansko
Bansko is not like Playa del Carmen in terms of weather. The town though is great for experiencing the different seasons.
In winter, try downhill skiing (or cross-country skiing which we prefer) and enjoy the hot springs at night.
In the summertime, enjoy the outdoor BBQs and hiking and head just two hours away for a weekend on the Greece coast ๐
Bansko, as a digital nomad, is the best place we have ever visited worldwide in terms of coworking.
As mentioned, it’s got a great digital nomad community, plenty of events, and is an incredibly inexpensive place.
Keeping fit and healthy is not always easy when traveling but, in Bansko town, you have plenty of gyms and classes and also opportunities for hiking, mountain biking, skiing, etc.
Bansko has it all except for the Caribbean weather ๐

2. NEST CoWorking, Playa del Carmen, Mexico
Playa del Carmen is a very popular destination for digital nomads and co-working and it is not hard to understand why once you visit.
Co-working and co-living spaces such as that provided by NEST Coworking in Playa del Carmen, mean that you can live and work in a destination that is:
- in a tropical location
- within easy transportation distance of a major airport (Cancun airport)
- has high-speed Internet and there’s a great social scene and the chance to meet others here
- close to the beach and within walking distance of everything you need
- in the town itself, which is a nice mix of locals and international travelers – so a great place for dipping your toes into the digital nomad experience.
What We Like About NEST Co-Working
- We were able to find a great balance of working hard and getting stuff done but also having access to a great social circle from the people we met in the coworking space at NEST.
- Valeria speaks Spanish so that does help but you find a mix of English and Spanish speakers coming here as co-workers and so language is not an issue.
- It’s so close to the beach that taking a lunchtime beach walk was the norm for us
- You can walk to everywhere you need to
- It’s inexpensive

3. Mallorca – Bedndesk
Imagine a coworking space that is only one minute from the beach!
The chance to work and take a lunchtime swim or have your lunch on the beach.
The danger of course that Valeria and I had when we worked from Bedndesk was that the beach was quite a temptation when we needed to work sometimes. It’s not a bad problem to have though ๐
What We Like About Bedndesk
- Bedndesk also has a co-living option, which means they have a house in which you can also choose to stay and it’s in the same building as the coworking space.
- They also organize events and we found this a wonderful way to mix with some locals and some other international coworkers who were staying in Bedndesk at the same time.
- The location is fantastic and Mathias, who was in charge when we were there, was a great host and point of contact.
- The boardwalk, beach and plenty of great restaurants and bars are all literally within a few minutes walk. It’s brilliant!

4. Repeople in Las Palmas, Gran Canaria, Spain
With great all-year-round weather, the Canary Islands, just west of the African mainland, is another excellent place for being a digital nomad.
We spent time in the city of Las Palmas on Gran Canaria and an excellent place to work from is at the Repeople coworking space.
The space is located downtown so it’s fairly small but a great place for meeting other co-workers and close to all the amenities you will need.
Why We Love Coworking in Las Palmas with Repeople
We met some great people and we love being in co-workers’ spaces where we are relatively close (or even next) to a beach.
Not as cheap of course as the likes of Thailand, Bali, and Costa Rica, but very reasonably priced for Europe.
Further Information
- You can visit the RePeople website here.
5. The Box Jelly, Honolulu, Hawaii
Valeria and I are suckers for Hawaii. We love Hawaii.
Box Jelly in Honolulu is a fantastic option if you are visiting these islands.
They have a couple of coworking spaces in Honolulu and they are both central and in great locations. One is the new BoxJelly Ward Village and the original BoxJelly Kamani.
Why We Love Box Jelly Coworking Space
Love the location. Just one kilometer from Waikiki Beach and very friendly staff.
Plenty of quiet areas to get work done and just a wonderful place overall to spend a month or more.
The Internet speed was very fast and they have meeting rooms and space for whatever you need and the prices are very reasonable.

6. Sun and Co Coliving and Coworking, Javea, Spain
On mainland Spain, in the province of Valencia, a fantastic option for you, if you are a digital nomad, is Sun& Co in Javea.
This is a very well-run coworking and coliving space and it’s in a lovely town that is right by the sea.
We stayed in their coliving space (you can choose a private or shared room) as we find that you have a much greater chance to socialize after work if you stay in the coliving space attached to the coworking.
Sun&Co organize various events that include hiking, day trips, trips to the beach, and various culturally related events.
We found the staff super helpful and friendly and definitely want to return to Javea to work for one to two months again as soon as we can.
Don’t worry if you do not speak Spanish as we were able to get by just speaking English, although Valeria can speak Spanish so she spoke Spanish socially but it isn’t essential in Javea.
There is a language school that offers 1-to-1 Spanish lessons by the way, on the same street, just in case you do have an interest in learning any Spanish ๐
*A word of note – you do have to stay in their coliving space, i.e. book a room to stay if you want to use their co-working space too. The concept with Sun&CO is to build a real digital nomad community and it does work well here!
The closest beach is a 30-minute walk but you can rent a bike from the coworking and reach the beach in 10 minutes, as we liked to do for lunchtime on the beach.

7. Puerto&Co – Coworking Space, Puerto Viejo de Talamanca, Costa Rica
Imagine coworking from a place that is literally a few minutes from the beach, where you are right in the town and where you are surrounded by nature and wildlife, and where it’s very inexpensive? Welcome to Puerto&Co in Puerto Viejo. ๐
Costa Rica is becoming a magnet for coworkers and digital nomads from around the world and it is not hard to understand why. Consider that Costa Rica offers:
- Stunning beaches, jungle areas, and amazing natural scenery.
- Very inexpensive coworking places with good high-speed internet.
- Outdoor lifestyle (rainy season is Sep to Dec just to note although, on the Caribbean coast, those months are the driest).
Why We Loved Working Online from Puerto&Co
We loved working in an open cafe and so close to both nature and the beach. We love Puerto Viejo and this coworking space is a great option.
They do a great coffee, a variety of teas and some great food too.

8. ReStation, Gran Canaria, Spain
Another coworking place we love to work from is the Canary Islands. I have to admit that the Canary Islands and Costa Rica are the two main places we love most to work digitally from.
With Restation coworking space, one of the absolute keys to why we love it so much is because it is literally a hundred meters or so from Las Canteras beach (2 minutes walk).
This is the main beach in Gran Canaria and so this is a great location to work from.
For Valeria and I, being able to go for a beach walk before and after work and to have lunch on the beach if we want to, is what being a digital nomad is all about.
Why We Loved Restation
We stayed in their coliving space, in addition to using the coworking area for work, and overall we met tonnes of amazing people and we still managed to get lots of work done.
More than anything, the closeness to the beach was something we loved and everything you need is close by.
And, of course, you have the Canary Islands weather!
Further Information
You can find the Restation website here
9. Outpost Canggu Coworking, Bali
Bali has been a popular location for digital nomads for a few years now and ‘Outpost Canggu’ is one of the most popular coworking locations.
This is a relatively new co-working space and is located in the Canggu Berawa area.
Why We Loved Canggu Coworking
This is a fantastic overall workplace that is:
- comfortable with some cozy areas to work from
- great facilities (including a swimming pool on the bottom level)
- a great place to meet other coworkers
- they organize events for the coworkers
- within walking distance of the beach so great for morning and after-work walks on the beach
It is really both a place where you can get work done properly and a place that is brilliant for socializing in the evenings.
Further Information
- You can visit the Destination Outpost site here.
10. BeachHub, Koh Phangan Island, Thailand
If the idea of working on your laptop with a stunning view of a beach is your idea of a pleasant working environment, then you will likely LOVE BeachHub in Koh Phangan.
Why We Loved BeachHub
It is quite simply a stunning island from which to work in terms of scenery, the people we met, and the cost of living.
They also have a great cafรฉ where you can buy juices, shakes, and some lovely food.
Nearby you can also do yoga classes on the beach in the evenings.
Overall a fantastic experience and we’ll be back!

11. Working Capital, Singapore
If you are interested in exploring Singapore and need to work whilst in the city, ‘Working Capital Coworking Space’ is the one we most liked.
Singapore is not a typical digital nomad location because it is more expensive than the destinations that attract digital nomads.
Compared to Costa Rica, Vietnam, Bulgaria, for example, Singapore is expensive at least in terms of accommodation and coworking costs.
We absolutely love Singapore though so we combine coworking with the chance to visit this amazing place.
Why We Loved Working Capital Coworking Space
We found that there was a great sense of community in this co-working space and a good location. Friendly and super-fast internet speeds too.
Further Information
- You can find the Working Capital site here.
12. Ministry of New Coworking Space, Mumbai, India
Mumbai is a busy, lively, and hectic city and it takes a little getting used to as a digital nomad. The city though is fantastic if you are interested in a new cultural experience.
Why We Loved It Here
The ‘Ministry of New’ is a lovely building and is a great place to work from.
We found that we met lots of people and made many new friendships during our time here and, if you are visiting India, and in particular Mumbai, it’s a great base to work from.
Further Information
- Their website is here.

World Travel Resources
I have been traveling for many years and have come to use a lot of travel sites and resources for booking my trips. They represent the companies that I often use and have served me well and they are the first ones I use when booking new trips.
- Booking.com – they tend to provide very competitive prices and the reviews are easy to view, and they normally have something available wherever in the world I am going to. They also now provide airport transfers, local attractions, and flights.
- Safety Wing Travel Insurance – Safety Wing has become one of the leaders in travel insurance, especially for remote workers and digital nomads as they provide cover that includes for long-term stays.
- Get Your Guide – is the site on which I normally book tours (I love to visit the local sports stadia, aquarium, royal palace, and some cultural attractions). With get Your Guide they have excellent customer support and have a wide range of tours.
