Are you getting the level of brand visibility online that you need?

Improving business and brand brand online.

As a blogger or business owner would greater coverage and traffic online help you?

You may be a new website owner or blogger, a business online that has had a website for years with some basic static pages, or you might be an established blogger or web developer.

Whichever category you fall into, you might find that you get very little visibility online. What can you do? What is the solution to make your brand highly visible online?

It is absolutely essential to understand the basics of content marketing theory (don’t worry it’s not hard) if you want to get much greater visibility online.

Let me explain what you need to understand when it comes to finding ways to become visible online!

Stage 1 – Understanding Why Content Is Vital to Build Your Brand Visibility Online

I am going to start this post by gently informing you of something you probably would prefer not to hear! Content matters and matters greatly.

Content Marketing v Blogging v Branding

If you want to greatly increase your visibility online for your small business site, you need to understand the sheer importance of creating high-quality content.

Boring! Boring! Boring! You might well say. But let me explain!

Why would I want to start focusing on content creation like a blogger?

Why can’t I just make a website for my business online and create some standard key pages and then market it? I don’t have time for spending all day writing!

You might feel that you are a serious business person looking to use your website to build your business.

You do not have time to mess around writing blog posts and worrying about creating content. What’s the point right? Hey?

Focusing on a content strategy is NOT needed for every website.

Local Business v Global Online Presence

Do you ONLY sell products or services locally in a small geographic area? Are you a local plumber, for example:

If you are, then the best way to promote your business is word-of-mouth. You probably do not even need an online presence, truth be told!

When content is not important for local visilibility.
Not all businesses need an online content strategy.

If you are a local bakery. Once again, you are very unlikely to need to spend time using an online content strategy. A few basic web pages such as to highlight your opening hours and some other basic information should suffice.

As a local bakery, your best bet is to make great bread and other baked items and build your reputation through quality products and service to local people.

Understanding passive income and having a global online presence for your brand or business.

What though, if you are a local business or a small business and you DO want to draw attention to your brand or business services?

Having a Passive and Global Online Reach for Your Brand

What if you want to draw in people from a wide geographical area, to visit and see your site online?

What if you would like also to scale your business?

Imagine if you could make one item, and sell that same one item 10, 100 or even 1000 times (which you can certainly do with digital items such as an eBook or eCourse that you sell)?

In other words, what if you want to make passive income?

So where I am going with this? Well, the point is that websites are very much like stars in the universe, in the sky.

Your website is like a star that exists in the universe and you want your website (your star) to be as visible as possible and brighter than the other stars.

You want people to notice your star, that is, your business or brand’s website.

Having a Highly Visible Site Online

The big question then is how can you make your star stand out brighter than other people’s stars? How can you make your website more noticeable than other websites?

The search engine telescope concept
The ‘Search Engine Telescope’ concept.

Every major blogger achieves the goal of high luminosity online by having a strategy that involves creating high-quality content online.

Whether you look at someone such as Ciara of the Fussy Eater (the food blogger) or Brian Dean (who writes about SEO), they get great visibility for their sites by having high-quality content.

Content Strategy Option 1: Ciara of ‘The Fussy Eater’ produces regular blog posts on her website and then she posts the images from her posts to her Pinterest account.

Through building content on her site and posting the images to Pinterest Ciara has built great visibility for her brand using Pinterest + content.

Content Strategy Option 2: Brian Dean builds mega posts (several thousand words long and gives in-depth information).

Rather than lots of regular posts and targetting a search engine such as Pinterest, Brian focuses on supreme quality blog posts, that attract tonnes of reshares and comments.

Both strategies have in common the idea of high-quality content to increase the luminosity of their respective websites.

Quite simply, if you want to make your site highly visible online, you first want to start thinking about actually having something online that is there to draw visitors in to start with.

Which Niches Are Suitable for Content Marketing

If you are a food blogger and have no pages about pasta, then do not expect to rank for pasta terms.

Or if you sell car parts online, and have no high-quality page on each car tire type, do not expect to rank highly for search terms to do with those car tires.

It does not matter what niche you are involved with, the point is that adding high-quality content onto your site is key.

Furthermore, each blog post should be targeted to one key term. If you teach English as a foreign language, then have a post to do with ‘How to Master Phrasal Verbs’ for example. Have a post on each key topic to do with teaching English.

So – start by making a list of all the key terms that people would enter into search engines, that match the terms that relate to your site.

Also do some keyword research to analyze what terms you should target and write about, that relate to your business niche.

So in answer to the question of ‘How can I increase my brand visibility online’ – to shine brightly online, as a brand or small business, think content strategy!

Conclusion and Creating a Realistic Strategy

If you have read our post on time management as a blogger, I am sure you will be very sensitive to time constraints and productivity, for promoting your business online.

Follow these tips if you want to begin to increase your online brand visibility:

  • Aim to put a high-quality article live on your site once a week and consistently (Or every 10 days if needed). You can hire someone else to write the article using a virtual assistant if needed. Delegate the writing to someone if needed but DO make sure the quality is high.
  • Then you need to market the content. I strongly recommend Pinterest for this (follow us on Pinterest here).
