Gran Canaria is continuing to grow as a digital nomad’s location and one of the main locations for coliving and coworking on the island is in the capital Las Palmas with RePeople. In this post, we look at our experience of coliving and coworking on the island.

Coworking and Gran Canaria
Destinations that tend to be popular as digital nomad locations generally need to meet the following criteria:
- Be an affordable location
- Have decent weather (whether it be warm and sunny or snow for skiing, etc.)
- Good social events
- High-speed Internet access
- Access to a decent coworking and coliving community
The good news is that Las Palmas in Gran Canaria meets these criteria.
Furthermore, RePeople, with their 4 houses, provides a network of nomads and a sense of community.
RePeople Coliving
Run by Nacho and managed by the happiness manager Dora, RePeople is the leading company in Las Palmas, offering coliving in their houses, and access to their coworking space.
RePeople has five main houses and these are:
- Mozart House
- The Roof
- The Mansion
- The Artisans
- and The Founder (newest coliving house with RePeople)
All of the houses are centrally located, have all the amenities you need, and are perfect for both short- and long-term stays.
Furthermore, there are regular events and ways for coworkers from each house to mix with the other houses.
Our Mozart House Experience & Review
Located in one of the nicest parts of Las Palmas, close to Parque Romano, Mozart House Coliving house is a 5-bedroom house available for digital nomads.
If you can do your work and manage your career online, and need somewhere sociable and suitable for working, then this is a great house.
Location
The house is in a fantastic location given that it is:
- Within 5 minute’s walk of Parque Romano (a lovely place to go running and workout)
- Is also within 5 minute’s walk of Playa de las Alcaravaneras
- Within 15 minutes walk of the main beach Las Canteras
- Close to the main shops and shopping centers (within 10 minute’s walk)
What to Expect
The beauty of staying in a coliving house such as one of the properties that RePeople provide is that you:
- Get to stay in an affordable place
- Have access to decent WiFi connections
- Have access to social events
- Have the chance to mix and meet new housemates
- Stay long-term, i.e. one or two months (as needed)
- Have the support of the happiness manager
Mozart House is one of the most popular houses provided by RePeople and it’s also got a lovely roof terrace that catches the sun and is a great place to hang out if you want to.
The Roof
Another popular house with RePeople is The Roof.
Located within 5 minute’s walk of Mozart House, this is another great place to stay, if your career allows you to work from anywhere online.
In addition to being a place you can work from, all of the RePeople houses provide social opportunities, and, for us, this included getting a few of us together to do yoga on the terrace and heading to the beach for volleyball.
RePeople Coworking Space
In Mozart House, The Roof, and The Mansion (from RePeople) there is plenty of space to work from the house.
Alternatively, though, you can choose to work from a coworking space, such as the main RePeople coworking space 15 minutes away, or from a separate co-working space such as ‘The House’ located downtown.
See below the location of the RePeople coworking space (and the cost is included if you stay in a RePeople coliving space)
Alternatively, ‘The House Coworking‘ is a separate company and is another place you can work from (more on The House in the useful resources section below).
How to Book with RePeople
If you are interested to book a room in one of the RePeople houses, you can book here directly through the RePeople website.

Why Visit and Work from Gran Canaria?
Considering Las Palmas and need convincing?
Apart from being a great place for digital nomads as a place to work and to build a good social life, there are other benefits and these include:
1. The Climate
Gran Canaria has a temperate climate, which means that it’s perfect for year-round travel.
The temperatures are mild all year long, so you can enjoy the sun and beaches without feeling too hot.
Additionally, the ocean breezes keep the island cool, making it a comfortable place to be even on the hottest days.
2. The Scenery
Gran Canaria is a beautiful island with stunning scenery.
From the rugged mountains to the sandy beaches, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
3. The Facilities
Gran Canaria is a well-developed island with all of the amenities you could need. There are plenty of restaurants, bars, and shops, as well as hospitals and other essential facilities. You’ll never be bored on Gran Canaria – there’s always something to do.
4. The Cost of Living
The cost of living in Gran Canaria is much lower than in many other European countries. This makes it a great place to live and work.
Where to Visit in Gran Canaria
If you are staying here for a few weeks or a few months, there is plenty to see and do in Gran Canaria on your time off.
- Maspalomas Dunes – whilst Maspalomas can be considered very touristic with many large hotels, the dunes are nonetheless well worth visiting and seeing and they provide a great photo opportunity.
- Poema del Mar Aquarium – One of the best aquariums we have seen worldwide is the aquarium here in Las Palmas (very close to the cruise port). Whilst not cheap, we highly recommend this attraction.
- Hiking in Gran Canaria – There are tonnes of hiking trails in Gran Canaria and many only require low to intermediate fitness. You can find a good list of Gran Canaria hikes here.
