Steph makes her money as an influencer and through affiliate income via her site.

4. Be My Travel Muse

Be my travel muse website

Be My Travel Muse is the online blogging business run by Kristin Addis, a female travel blogger who focuses on adventure travels around the world.

Kristin is one of the modern-day digital nomads who sold everything she owned so that she could travel.

And she has been very successful, building a huge online following and over 120,000 Instagram followers.

Kristin has made her blogging income online through a combination of:

  • affiliate income such as through travel insurance and travel products
  • organizing her own holidays for others to join her on
  • sponsorship from some big travel brands.

5. Goats on the Road

Goats on the road travel bloggers

Goats on the Road is a blog from travel bloggers Dariece Swift and Nick Wharton (a couple but not yet married).

They have been making a living from blogging for over 10 years and they focus quite a lot on travel photography and documenting all of the places they travel to.

One of the ways they make money online is by offering their own courses. They also work, as many travel blogger influencers do, with many of the top travel and destination brands.

Income and Money Matters Bloggers

6. Skint Dad

Skint dad blogger

Skint Dad is a great blog all about saving money from the British bloggers and married couple, Ricky and Naomi Willis.

Ricky and Naomi have specialized in the frugal living niche and have a strong UK following for their blog.

They make income from a variety of things including:

  • Mediavine (which is very popular as an income source by blogging influencers with a lot of site traffic)
  • Offering advertising on their site
  • Affiliate income

The real strength of the Skint Dad website is that Ricky and Naomi have been penniless and it was at this point that they started to document their journey, their story.

It is much easier to succeed as a blogging influencer and make money blogging if you have a narrative, that is a story that people can relate to and buy into.

7. Frugalwoods

Frugalwoods blogging site

Frugalwoods are the U.S. equivalent, if you like, of the Skint Dad couple mentioned above in that they blog about managing the financial budgets at home.

Where Nake and Liz (the couple who run Frugalwoods) are different is that they gave up successful careers in the city, to follow the dream of working for themselves and blogging.

Based in Vermont, USA, they have developed a very good income from blogging about basic living and money-saving. They write great posts about topical ways to reduce costs including this post, as an example, on aligning time and money.

8. Financial Samurai

Financial Samurai blog

Financial Samurai is quite different from the frugal blogger and living-style money blogs mentioned above.

The direction of the blog posts on Financial Samurai is to talk about higher-level financial opportunities, issues, and news.

The money from this blogger is made largely through affiliate income such as via the financial products being written about, such as the best credit card rewards programs.

Samurai also makes income from auto-generated ads on his site via Mediavine.

Lifestyle Bloggers

9. Huda Beauty

Huda beauty blog

Huda Beauty is the brainchild of Huda Kattan. Huda started off with a blog but now drives quite a lot of her business via Instagram and her 40 million followers. Yes, 40 million!

Huda is one of the very first beauty bloggers to have developed her own brand and beauty business on the back of her blogging efforts.

She focuses a lot on make-up and the combination of her online blog, the creation of a YouTube channel, and her use of Instagram early on, has given Husa a cult-like following in the make-up industry online as an influencer and businesswoman.

Huda’s story and success are hugely inspiring and impressive!

10. Meghan Rienks

Meghan Rienks is proof that you can be a highly successful blogger from a young age. Still in her early twenties, Megan adopted the Internet when she was 16 years old, for her career, and she has not looked back since.

As a lifestyle blogger, Meghan covers four main areas and these are:

  • Recipes
  • Travel
  • Presents
  • Lifestyle itself

Similar to many bloggers, Meghan has made a living online as a blogger with income from affiliate suppliers and from sponsorship as an influencer able to promote certain products.

It also appears, from her site, that she is also starting her own online shop.

11. Cupcakes and Cashmere

Cupcakes and cashmere blogging site

Emily Schuman is the face and brains behind Cupcakes and Cashmere.

Her background is really quite different from many bloggers in that she worked for Condé Nast before becoming a full-time blogger.

Emily has also managed to develop her own brand Nordstrom, which is a popular clothing brand.

On her blog, you can read articles that cover all aspects of lifestyle blogging including beauty, travel, DIY, and being a mum.

12. Love Taza

Blogger Love Taza

Lova Taza is the site of Naomi and she blogs about family, food, travel, and her home city of NYC.

Naomi started blogging in 2007 and over time she has built a loyal audience that has followed her journey through motherhood, life in NYC, and travels around the U.S. further afield.

She has also evolved her blog to include video posts (embedding her YouTube videos into her posts), an idea that brings her even close to her followers.

Naomi and her husband (who quit his job as a banker to help with Love Taza) make money from ads on their job, in addition to sponsorship and affiliate income.

Food Bloggers and Blogs

13. Give Me Some Oven

Give me some oven is the site of Ali Ebright from Kansas City, USA.

Ali is a food blogger who focuses on recipes, although more recently she has also added travel and lifestyle-type posts.

She has used social media very efficiently to build her following, with over 700,000 Facebook followers (see for yourself) and 200,000 followers on Instagram.

One lesson to learn is that when you write a blog post, you want to then market it, you do not sit and wait for content to be discovered. With a social network such as Ali’s you can really get your blogging content out there in front of your followers, whether it be on Pinterest, Instagram, Facebook or other social media sites.

Cookie and Kate focus on whole foods. As Kate the blogger behind the site explains, she writes about vegetarian recipes that use fresh ingredients.

Cookie in the site name refers to her dog ‘Cookie’ and Kate herself is from Oklahoma but now lives in Kansas City, USA.

Kate makes an income from Mediavine ads, from her own cookbook on Amazon, and also Google Adsense advertising.

15. Minimalist Baker

Minimalist Baker blogging site

One of my own favorites when it comes to food blogging is the Minimalist Baker.

This food blog is run by Dana, a food photographer, and receipt creator, who is followed by thousands like me, who love her recipes and the way she presents them with dazzling images.

In addition to income from auto-generated ads on her blog, Dana makes money by promoting her own online courses, based on her expertise in food photography, food video production, and everyday baking.

Dana also makes significant income from affiliate income, promoting hosting such as Bluehost, camera equipment, and blogging tools such as WP Rocket (which we also use on this site for optimizing website speed to make our site fast).

Like many bloggers, Dana also makes an income through selling products as an Amazon affiliate (in Dana’s case promoting cooking-related books and equipment in her shop on her blog).

16. Add A Pinch

Add a pinch blog

Add a Pinch is written by food blogger Robyn Stone and is unique from many other top food bloggers in that the focus is on Southern cuisine and cooking i.e. from the Deep South.

This site contains stunning photos, and tonnes of recipes for all meal types and festivity types. Also, numerous videos showing how to cook the dishes she highlights. Great site for anyone interested in cooking.

Robyn has lots of auto-generated ads on her site and with her large readership makes a liveable income from blogging online.

Maria Forleo makes a great living online from blogging and her success in my view is largely down to her branding.

Maria has a great narrative in that she tells of her own journey and makes it easy to want to follow her posts and story.

The core of Maria’s site is about you developing in terms of self-growth.

Maria makes money online from various sources including from her own book:

19. Melyssa Griffin

Melyssa Griffin is one of the most famous bloggers online in the marketing world.

Tim Sykes is another super-blogger who makes a million-plus dollars a year in blogging income.

Money and business are Tim’s subject areas and he has become extremely good at teaching these areas online through his DVD and video courses.

The form you have selected does not exist.
